NORMAN, Okla. — Jamuni McNeace will begin his professional basketball career in Europe.
McNeace signed with Finland's Vilpas Vikings, according to eurobasket.com.
The club is based in Salo, Finland, and competes in Korisliiga, which is the country's premier professional basketball league.
The 6-foot-10 center from Kankakee, Illinois, played 120 games with OU and started 16 of those appearances. He ended with career averages of 4.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
He also recorded 117 career blocks, which is the sixth most of any OU player in program history.
McNeace was a contributor to the Sooners' 2016 Final Four team and helped the Sooners reach back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances as a junior and senior.
Injuries plagued McNeace, who was unavailable for parts of last season. He'll get the opportunity to prove himself at the professional level, however, after recovering from a few setbacks with a few leg injuries.
