The Glidewell House at Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center, 507 S. 4th, is decorated for the annual Victorian Christmas in the Humphrey Heritage Village, 5-9 p.m. Dec. 6, 2019.

ENID, Okla. — Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center, 507 S. 4th, will host its annual Victorian Christmas in the Humphrey Heritage Village, 5-9 p.m. Dec. 6.

The heritage center, in a press release, invites the public to "feel the warmth of holiday cheer throughout the beautifully decorated Humphrey Heritage Village."

Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center director Jake Krumwiede invited the public to make the annual event "a wonderful tradition for the family."

“My fondest memories of Christmas are never the gifts I’ve received, but rather the quality time I’ve spent with family and loved ones," Krumwiede said. "We want to help you create those warm memories through events like these. We are grateful to the Humphrey family for continuing to help support this event. I know Christmas was a special time of year for Village namesake Bill Humphrey, and it’s one of the ways we like to honor his dedication to our shared history.”

For the admission price of $5, visitors will hear Christmas carols "echoing throughout the village from local children’s choirs as they tour the Victorian-era Glidewell House," according to the press release. "There are many other activities for the family, including ornament decorating, crafts for the kids, cocoa, cookies, and a visit from Santa Claus."

Children ages 5 and younger are admitted for free. Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance for the event. For more information about Christmas in the Village, call (580) 237-1907 or visit www.csrhc.org.

The Heritage Center and Humphrey Heritage Village are open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center is a division of the Oklahoma Historical Society. For more information about the OHS, please visit www.okhistory.org.
