A second person of interest in a fatal New Year’s Day shooting was questioned and released.
McAlester Police Sgt. Preston Rodgers said investigators questioned a second person of interest in the shooting death of 25-year-old Dustin Parker. The person of interest was questioned and released on Monday.
The McAlester Police Department and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation continue to investigate after police found Parker dead on the 200 block of West Delaware Avenue. Officers were called to the area to investigate gunshots early New Year's Day and they found Parker dead in the driver's side of a Rover Taxi with multiple bullet holes in it.
Rodgers said investigators are still working hard on the case and are following up on all leads.
“We got some further interviews to conduct and we will see what we can come up with from there,” said Rodgers.
