OHP: Local man killed in collision with vehicle

A local man was killed after being struck by a vehicle and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances.

Jimmie Moore, 53, of Krebs, was pronounced dead at the McAlester Regional Health Center after suffering head, trunk internal, and leg injuries from the collision, according to the OHP.

Moore was struck by a 2001 Volvo driven by a Krebs man on the U.S. Highway 69 service road near the entrance to the Choctaw Casino south of McAlester.

The driver of the vehicle was seen speaking with troopers before the vehicle was towed from the scene.

According to the OHP report, the condition of the driver and the pedestrian, along with the cause of the collision, remain under investigation.

The collision report was prepared by Trooper Allen Monroe and was assisted by Troopers Tyler James, Brad Wilson, the McAlester Police Department, McAlester Fire Department, and the Choctaw Nation Tribal Police.
