Western Sizzlin in McAlester announced in a social media post that Saturday is its last day of operation.

Restaurant management posted on Facebook the following statement:

"It's with much sorrow and regret my family and I have to announce today that we will be closing the doors of Western Sizzlin of McAlester this Saturday June 15th. The circumstances over the last two years have had such a negative affect on us that we can no longer stay in business. Our dream of being here for many years to provide our community with a wholesome environment for your families to enjoy has come to an end. We would like to thank all of our loyal customers for overcoming the inconvenience and continued to frequent us often. Thank you to all the families that have trusted us to take care of their special occasions, holiday's and events. Thank you to all of our catering customers as well. We want to thank all of our wonderful employees that have stayed with us and helped us through this difficult time. Our prayer is that all of our wonderful employees can easily find a new place to work. I too will be searching for my new place of employment. We hope that we are the last of this kind of demise and not one of the first. Hopefully our closure will help some of our fellow restaurant owners survive the changes, that everyone will work through the inconvenience and safety concerns and frequent the locally owned businesses on the bypass more often so we are just not the first of many. We love our city and want it to be prosperous, it takes all of us to keep our town and its dreams alive... Come out and see us one last time, sit in your favorite servers section and think of all the fun we had. Maybe even have one last "Marty" Burger.

Praying for happier times to come.

May God Bless You All,

Marty, Kim and Drew House"
