EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

1. Celebrates 244 years of Marine Corps History

2. This year's theme will highlight Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom

3. A donation to a local charity will be made from the proceeds of the ball.

WHY ATTEND?

"Our ball is to celebrate the birthday of the Corps," said Michael Alex Bailey, Commandant of the Indian Nation Detachment of the Marine Corps League. "Our ball is open to all who want to celebrate with us, both military and civilian." Bailey said this year's donation will go to the McAlester Boys and Girls Club and the event will have live music courtesy of Bo Posey and the Shift Work Band.

Things to do

Thursday

Senior Bingo at Belfair of McAlester. Begins at 5 p.m. at 802 Windsong Way in McAlester. $1 per card with a lot of amazing prizes to win.

Friday

Benefit Spaghetti Dinner and Pie Auction. Dinner begins at 5 p.m. with pie auction at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit the TLC Wig Closet, which provides free wigs and head coverings for cancer patients.

Saturday

Eastern Oklahoma State College homecoming festivities. Mountaineer 5K and 1-mile fun run beings at 10 a.m. in downtown Wilburton. Mountaineer tailgate begins at Noon. Lady Mountaineers play Oklahoma Wesleyan University at 2 p.m. with the Mountaineers playing OKC Storm at 5 p.m. Homecoming Coronation will be held between the two games. The Bo Phillips Band will perform at the EOSC Agriculture Hall of Fame Celebration at 7 p.m.

Family Night hosted by Eagle Hill Disc Golf Club and Trinity Lutheran Church. Activities begin at 6 p.m. Food and drinks provided with a silent auction and door prizes. 190 E. State Highway 31, McAlester. 

High Hill Community Chili Dinner and meeting from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the High Hill Fire Department, 4128 High Hill Road. 

A Night of Love and Romance with sounds of Al Green and Diana Ross at Legacy on Main Street, 224 Main Street in Eufaula. Dinner at 6:30 p.m. with concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. $45 for dinner and concert or $25 for concert only.
