EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

Megan Waters, executive director of Pride In McAlester, gives reasons why McAlester residents should participate in the final weekend of the organization's Fall Cleanup.

1. It gives residents a chance to get rid of that mattress, old sofa or water tank.

2. You aren’t really going to make a garden or a tree swing out of those old tires

3. The landfill is open to take your brush free the same hours we open at the armory.

WHY ATTEND?

"This helps us all beautify our area, clean it out. We don’t need stacking up the old TVs anyway," Waters said.

McAlester residents only and no commercial waste will be accepted at the McAlester Recycling Plant, 307 East Polk Avenue in McAlester from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. Sunday.
