After nearly three years, a project to rebuild and update 49 miles of a Public Service Company of Oklahoma transmission line between McAlester and Atoka is about to enter its final phase.
To prepare for work on the final mile of the project, PSO has scheduled a two-to-four hour power outage that will affect approximately 700 of its customers in Kiowa and Pittsburg beginning at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4.
“We want to make sure our customers in Kiowa and Pittsburg are aware of this scheduled outage so they can make any necessary arrangements,” said Frank Phillips, PSO External Affairs Manager in McAlester.
“We hope to limit any inconvenience to the extent possible, which is why we’ve chosen to begin this work late at night, so that it will be wrapped up well before people start getting up for work and school the following morning.”
PSO said this will be the final scheduled outage on the line before the project’s expected completion in mid-December.
