Brittany Ann Moham, the daughter of Rickey and JoAnn Moham Sr., of McAlester, is engaged to be married to 2nd Lt. Daniel Robert Peoples, son of Clarence Smith Jr. and Gloria Peoples, of Spencer.
The bride-elect is a 2007 graduate of McAlester High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor of science in health and exercise science with a minor in African and African-American studies. She plans to attend medical school next fall and become a pediatrician.
While at OU, Moham was involved in OU Leadership Development and Volunteerism, the Minority Association for Pre-Health Students, Women of Power, HESSA, the DARE to HOPE Mentor Program, and Tuesday Tutors. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Alfretta (Gist) Wilson, of Haskell, and Robert and JoWanda Moham Jr., of Oktaha.
The prospective groom is a 2007 graduate of Star Spencer High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor of arts in human relations and military science. He currently works as a Gold Bar recruiter for the Army ROTC program at OU, with which he was involved while at the school. He will attend Officer Basic Course in Ft. Lee, Va., this August, where the two will reside.
The future groom is the grandson of the late Clarence Sr. and Georgia Lee Smith, and Larvern and Hattie Peoples, all of Spencer.
The wedding ceremony is scheduled for July 16 at the First United Methodist Church in McAlester at 4:30 p.m. with the Rev. Anthony D. Washington officiating.
