The 2019 Miss McAlester contest is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at S. Arch Thompson Auditorium.

Beta Iota of McAlester is in its 39th year to sponsor the McAlester Miss and Teen competitions. The Miss McAlester contest is an official local preliminary competition to the Miss Oklahoma and Miss America Competitions. The Miss America Organization is the largest scholarship provider to young women.

Tickets cost $12 and can be purchased at Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home or at the door the night of the pageant. The pageant will feature reigning Miss McAlester 2018 Alexandria Williams and reigning Miss McAlester’s Outstanding Teen 2018, Maddie Carr. Miss McAlester Stars include Gracelinn Long and Emery Fields.

Savanna grad and American Idol contestant Trevor McBane will have a special performance and Mistress of Ceremonies will be Miss Oklahoma 2008 Kelsey Cartwright-Horton.

The pageant will also feature 10 Miss McAlester Pageant Princesses, each of which will be paired with a contestant, will be introduced and walk during the evening gown competition. The pageant princess program is a fundraiser, that helps to provide Miss and Teen contestants with scholarship money to be used toward education.
