The Western Heritage Days Celebration and Ken Lance Memorial Rodeo is coming up this week. Beginning on Thursday, July 18th, with the Presentation of the Colors by the Choctaw and Chickasaw Honor Guard and the Western Heritage Days Chili Cook-Off at 4pm, at Ken Lance Arena in Union Valley. The Cook-off is $20 to enter or $5 for all-you-can-taste.

Friday begins our Pageant, with special appearances by Miss Indian Rodeo and Miss Rodeo USA. All pageant events are open to the public and will be taking place at Union Valley Church and Ken Lance Arena.

Friday night is the first performance of the Ken Lance Rodeo, with Grand Entry beginning at 7pm. Rusty Moreland and the Rockin' R Rodeo Company of Seminole, OK will be providing the stock and IFR Funnyman Braden Tate of Melbourne, AR will be providing the laughs. Friday is also Military Appreciation Night, so wear RED to support our Armed Forces. Grand Entry is open to anyone who would like to ride. Legendary Cowboy, Larry Mahan will be making a special appearance Friday night.

Saturday morning at 10am, Ada Main Street will be watching Rodeo Queens from all over the Country, horse and mule-drawn wagons, classic cars, Choctaw Color Guard and Emergency Vehicles as they parade down the road. The parade is free to enter. Saturday night watch as the new Rodeo Royalty are crowned at 6pm. Saturday night also marks the second and final performance of the rodeo, with Grand Entry at 7pm and the first horse out of the chute at 8pm. There will be raffles and prizes throughout the performance.
