Chance Dwight Holden, 21, of McAlester, a resident of Tahlequah while attending college, died Monday, May 29, 2006, at St. Edwards Hospital in Fort Smith after an automobile accident near Tahlequah on Sunday, May 28, 2006.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bart Patterson officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.

The family will received visitors Thursday from 6 to 8 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Seth Fagundes, Tyson Stephens, Josh Parham, Dustin Scott, Aaron Johnson, Shawn Perkins, Garrett Williams and Josh Williams.

Born Nov. 9, 1984, in McAlester, to Brian Keith and LuCretia (Blood) Holden, he attended school at Frink-Chambers then attended Savanna High School and graduated from Pittsburg High School with honors in 2003. He was currently enrolled at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah and was working in their Human Resources department. He was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Delta Mu Delta, and the Accounting Society at Northeastern State University. He had also received several national dean’s and chancellor’s awards. He enjoyed basketball, baseball, football, hunting and fishing and all outdoor activities. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his father, Brian Holden, of McAlester; mother and stepfather, LuCretia Holden and Craig Overton, of McAlester; fiancé, Karina Higgs, of McAlester; grandparents, Norma Jean Scott, of McAlester, Mildred Ann Blood, of Blanco, Richard Dwight and Beve Holden, of Tacoma, Wash.

Also, brothers, Richard Holden, of McAlester, Jeffrey Holden, of McAlester Jeremy Martin and his wife, Shawna, of McAlester, Todd Wilson, of Hartshorne, Levi “Bud” Gilmore, of McAlester; sisters, Malarie McKee, of McAlester, Misty McEvers, of Haileyville, Taylor Brynn Lewis, of McAlester.

And, aunts and uncles, Debbie and Andy Hay, of Columbia, Tenn., Patricia and Gene Burrows, of Shawnee, Brenda Scott, of Meeker, Cheri Crews, of Nevada, Mo., Guy Blood, of Tecumseh, James “Bo” Childers, of Loindon, Ark., Carl Ray, of McAlester, Karen and Glen Gilmore, of McAlester.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Brian Keith Holden; grandparents, Guy Calvin Blood, Bill Scott, William Walter Hooper and Emma Belle Hooper.
