ADA — Ada-based financial advisor, Roger Gaddis, has been named by Governor J. Kevin Stitt for a third term as a trustee on the board of the Oklahoma Teachers Retirement System (OTRS), the state pension system which manages the estimated $16 billion fund for approximately 175,000 active, inactive and retired public school teachers in Oklahoma. Gaddis’s third term began on January 14, 2019 and ends on January 9, 2023.
Gaddis, owner and manager of Gaddis & Gaddis Wealth Management, is currently serving as vice chairman of the 14-member OTRS board, a position he was elected to in June of 2018. He currently serves as chairman of the investment committee and ealier served as chairman of the audit committee. He is also the only member of the OTRS Board with specific experience as a financial advisor. Gaddis was first named to the OTRS board by former Governor Mary Fallin in February 2012.
“I was extremely pleased that Roger Gaddis was reappointed to a third term as a trustee on the OTRS Board,” Tom Spencer, executive director of the OTRS, said. “Roger has vast experience in investments, and over the past eight years, he has made significant contributions to the important work of this organization.”
Gaddis is a graduate of both Leadership Oklahoma (Class of XXV) and Leadership Ada. At the local level, he has served on the Ada Community Advisory Board, an organization that provides recommendations to the city on major capital investment projects. In 2016, Gaddis and his wife, Leigh, were recognized as “honorees” at the Journal Record “Beacon Awards” for their community service contributions at the state and local level.
He earned an accounting degree from Oklahoma State University in 1979 and certification as a CPA in 1981. In 1992, he earned designation as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP).

The OTRS is a state agency that administers retirement assets and provides income security through a monthly retirement benefit payable to its clients, who are educators and employees of Oklahoma’s public education institutions and agencies.
