Hartshorne Slow-Pitch

Hartshorne's dugout makes some noise during the slow-pitch tournament it hosted and won on Thursday. 

Plenty of locals are on their way to regionals.

Kiowa, Stuart, Red Oak and Hartshorne all hosted and won districts this past week, and all move on to regionals. Only Hartshorne was not a state qualifier a year ago, and is looking to get back to state for the first time since 2005.

The following is a roundup of local scores from April 15-19.

April 15

Karlie McCormick went deep twice for the Class A-No. 1 Cowgirls (27-9). She was 3-for-3 with five RBIs and two runs scored. Kye Stone went 3-for-4 with four runs scored.

Hartshorne 26, Kiowa 22

Holli Lindley, Jaycee Kitchell and Nadairah Alexander all homered for the Class 4A-No. 15 Lady Miners (17-12). Lindley was 6-for-6 with six RBIs and five runs scored. Kitchell went 4-for-5 with five RBis and five runs scored. Alexander was 4-for-4 with six RBIs and three runs scored.

Sydney Linscott had three home runs, including a grand slam, for teh Cowgirls. Linscott was 4-for-5 with nine RBIs and three runs scored. McCormick and Cadence Howard homered as well. McCormick was 3-for-5 with four RBIs and as many runs scored. Howard went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in addition to her home run.

The Class A-No. 7 Lady Eagles (22-10) saw a grand slam from Kayleigh Hunter, who was 3-for-4 with three home runs, eight RBIs and four runs scored. They also had Kacie Bell go deep twice. Bell was 4-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored. Rylee Stacey had a multi-homer game as well. She was 3-for-4, driving in three and scoring twice.

Shadie Crase, Ashton Grogan and Grace Montgomery went deep as well. Crase was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Trista Ober went 3-for-3 with an RBI and scored three times.
