Red Oak is back on top.
The Class B-No. 1 Eagles (32-7) defeated Leedey, 6-3, at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City for title No. 11 in program history.
They defeated the Bison the last time they won it all, back in the Fall of 2017.
Red Oak scored four runs in the bottom of the second, and that was enough to win. The championship winner came when junior Austin Place doubled in fellow junior Dalton Patten that made it 4-0.
The Eagles added on in the bottom of the third when freshman Denver Hamilton and junior Preston King scored on a two-run error that made it 6-0.
Leedey did score in the top of the fourth on a two-run homer, and a runner came to score following an error from junior Chance Noah, but the Bison could not pull closer.
Patten got the win. He threw 81 pitches in 3.2 innings, racking up five strikeouts against three walks.
This was the 14th state championship to coach Trey Booth's credit. Booth has also won three state championships in boys basketball.
