Red Oak started No. 1, and finished No. 1 on Saturday.
The Class B-No. 1 Eagles (32-7) were ranked at the top of Class by the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association all season long. That season culminated in the 11th state championship in program history.
They bested Leedey, 6-3. It was the team they defeated in the Fall of 2017 for their 10th state championship. The Eagles and Bison faced off at Oklahoma City's Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.
Junior Austin Place drove in fellow junior Dalton Patten in the bottom of the second for the winning run that made it, 4-0. Red Oak scored all six of its runs in the second and third innings.
Leedey scored all three of its runs in the top of the fourth, including a two-run home run.
Trey Booth has now won 16 total state championships. Booth won two with Buffalo Valley and has now added an 11th with his alma mater. He also won three boys basketball state championships in 2009, 2016 and 2018.
