Floy Locke, 90, of McAlester, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at a local nursing center.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 tonight at Brumley-Mils Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Indianola First Baptist Church with the Rev. William Nixon officiating. Burial will be at Indianola Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.

Born July 5, 1918, in Drumright, she was the daughter of Charlie and Mittie (Dickson) McCurry. She grew up in Wilburton and married Woody Locke on Dec. 24, 1936, in Wilburton. They lived in Oklahoma City from 1955 to 1974 and then moved to the Indianola area where she has lived since then.

She enjoyed people and used that enjoyment in her involvement in the Indianola Senior Citizens and the Pittsburg County Homemakers Extension groups. She also enjoyed playing dominoes.

She was a member of the Indianola First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Paula Locke, of Indianola; four grandchildren, Debbie Lloyd and her husband, Rick, of Summerfield, Tracy Locke and his wife, Melissa, of Crowder, Lisa Byington and her husband, Henry, of McAlester, and Cheryl Genezle and her husband, James, Houston; nine great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Baker, of Indianola, Cheyenne Byington, of McAlester, Sarah Lloyd, of Summerfield, Stormy Byington, of McAlester, Taylor Locke of Crowder, Kyle Locke, of Crowder, McKenna Locke, of Crowder, Joanna Lloyd, of Summerfield, and Emma Ginzel and her husband, James, Houston; one sister, Patricia Moon, Rockwall, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Woody Locke, on May 27, 1981; a son, Charles Locke; two grandsons, James Allen Locke and James Locke; a sister, Mary Joe Houston; a brother, Charlie McCurry; and her special friend, John Kirby.

Pallbearers will be Frank Cox, Charlie Groves, Johnny Gary, Tim Miller, Buddy Thomas and Ronnie Rippee.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
