More than a half million Pittsburg County tax dollars will go to the dogs this year.
And it’s not just going to the dogs, it’s also going to the cats; Pittsburg County Commissioners approved a $687,700 budget for the PIttsburg County Animal Shelter on Monday.
The commissioners met for their regular meeting in the commissioners conference room at the PIttsburg County Courthouse.
The shelter budget, which was broken down as $495,000 for Personnel; $2,500 for Travel; $165,000 for Maintenance and Operations; 10,000 for Capital Outlay; $4,000 for Property Insurance, $9,000 for Workers Compensation, and $2,200 for Unemployment Taxes, was unanimously approved.
