Krebs man dies in car crash

McALESTER — A Krebs man died early Friday morning in a car crash in Atoka County.

Eric Heath Reid, 29, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet four-door at approximately 4:40 a.m. Friday, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report. Reid was traveling eastbound, about two miles west of Atoka, on State Highway 7 when he veered into oncoming traffic and struck a 2003 four-door Oldsmobile head on.

The Oldsmobile was driven by Allen Monroe Banks, 38, of Atoka, according to the report. Banks died at the scene of the crash from multiple head and body injuries.

Reid was pinned in his vehicle for 45 minutes before being transported to the Atoka Memorial Hospital in Atoka with head, internal trunk, external trunk, arm and leg injuries, the report states. Reid died after arriving at the hospital.
