McAlester Tag Office open for business

McALESTER — The McAlester Tag office is now open for business, according to McAlester Tag Agent Yvette Martin.

The office at 1208 N. Main St. officially reopened Feb. 24, Martin said.

The agency was closed after the December death of long time McAlester tag agent Ron McCoy.

Until it re-opened in February, McAlester residents had to travel Stuart or Hartshorne for tag agency services.

Martin said her customers have been wonderful through the transition and she said she’s working hard to learn everything about the processes involved in the tag agency as quickly as possible.

“I’m a new agent and I have a brand new staff and I would just like to ask for patience with us as we are all learning how to do this,” Martin said.

“We all want to do our best to give all our customers the best service along with a down-home welcome and a friendly smile,” she said.

The agency is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

and closed from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch.
