Baby Fair set for April

McALESTER — This year's free Baby Fair is called “Clown Around at the Baby Fair 2014” and its set for April 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Southeast Expo Center, organizers say.

Magicians, jugglers and other ent are expected to take part at the circus themed event which is in its 17th year, according to organizer LaDell Emmons.

Other attractions planned for the event include a Hula-Hoop Contest, car seat safety inspections, give-aways and an I Am Wonderful Parade, according to Emmons.

“The children are encouraged to wear their circus costumes and take part,” she said.

Some 1,000 people took part in last years event, which is geared towards family camaraderie, according to Emmons.

More than 35 agencies and groups have   agreed to take part in this year’s fair, she said.

There is no fee to host a booth which must be educational and activity centered, nothing is sold at the fair, according to Emmons.

Groups and agencies that are interested in  setting up a booth are encouraged to gear their activities towards families, grandparents, parenting and small children, she said.

The Southeast Expo Center is at 4500 W. Hwy. 270, west of McAlester.
