Bluegrass concert

McALESTER — A bluegrass concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Kerr Middle School, at 2300 S. Linda Lane in Del City. The concert is sponsored by the Oklahoma Bluegrass Club.

The featured bands are the Henderson Family, of Foster, the Larry Ford Band, of Leedy, and South Bound Mule, of Blanchard. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for OBC members, $1.50 for children aged 14 to 16 and children under 14 attend free of charge. No drugs or alcohol are allowed. The OBC would also like to invite concert-goers to bring their favorite instruments and a lawn chair.

The club is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of Bluegrass education and entertainment. Bluegrass is noted for its acoustic sounds using instruments such as fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin, dobro and upright base.
