NORMAN — There are several scenarios that lead to Oklahoma playing in a BCS bowl. All of them include the Sooners winning on Saturday against TCU.
However, the one where they get an outright Big 12 title hinge on Texas upsetting Kansas State on Saturday night.
OU coach Bob Stoops wouldn’t talk about this part of the equation because it’s beyond his control. Players, however, freely admit if OU gets the win over TCU, they will root hard for their biggest rival Saturday night.
“I’ll throw my hook ’em up there,” defensive end David King earlier this week.
“I will root for Texas just this one time,” linebacker Tom Wort admitted.
If the Sooners get out of Fort Worth, Texas, with a victory, they will have plenty of time to get home to watch the game.
The Sooners and Horned Frogs kickoff off at 11 a.m. at Amon Carter Stadium.
The Texas-Kansas State game starts at 7 p.m. at Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kan.
