The Oklahoma State University Cowboys will battle the University of Arizona Wildcats for the third consecutive season. This year is a little different.
Arizona has a new coach in Rich Rodriguez forcing Oklahoma State change their gameplan from the past two seasons.
“They are changing so many things,” junior linebacker Caleb Lavey said. “We have to watch the Rich Rodriguez West Virginia tapes. We are just going to have to do that much more studying.”
In the first two matchups, Mike Stoops was the coach of Arizona. Senior cornerback Brodrick Brown said some things will be the same but he will be prepared for different things.
“They will run things we haven’t seen before,” Brown said. “We have to prepare for anything.”
One of the things the Cowboys will have to prepare for is quarterback Matt Scott who can run and pass. Last week against Toledo, Scott threw for 387 yards while rushing for 74.
“They have the explosiveness that we have on offense,” co-defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer said. “They have a lot of receivers that can catch the ball. They got a good running game as well. You throw in the dimension of Scott, who can run and throw. They are going to keep you honest.”
