The McAlester High School Varsity Pom Pon squad will be competing in State competion on Saturday at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.

The squad will be performing their state competition routine, consisting of jazz, hip-hop, turns, leaps, kick-line and the ability to use poms in a sequence to music.

Judging is based on technique, execution, projection, choreography and overall look and crowd appeal. The MHS squad decided on a white front and solid black uniform for a different effect while performing.

A local performance of their pom routine will be open to the public today at 2:30 p.m. at the Bob Brumley Gymnasium.

“The Pom girls look awesome this year,” says coach Pam Davy. “Everyone please come out and show your support for McAlester.”
