The McAlester Buffaloes boys tennis team placed second, during the Class 5A regional tournament at Bob Brumley tennis courts, Monday afternoon.
The Buffs’ No. 1 singles Luka Radolovic, received the first place medal for his team.
The No. 2 singles Tucker Olsen finished in first place, after he defeated Shawnee’s No. 2 singles.
The Buffs’ No. 1 doubles Chris Burns and John Harrison, along with the No. 2 doubles Lane Brenner and Kenny Verrill, all received the fourth place medals for their team.
The second place regional finish, qualified the Buffs tennis team to the state tournament, Friday and Saturday, in Oklahoma City.
“I except them to play better than what we played at regional — we suffered some tough losses,” said head coach Chad Waller. “We are better than what we played at regional and we expect to show it at state.”
