McALESTER — The fall might be months away, but McAlester Buffalo Spring Training starts Monday at the McAlester Multipurpose Indoor Facility at Hook Eales Stadium. It will run from 5:30-7 p.m. every Monday until April 29.

Camp is geared toward children ages 6-12. They will split into three teams each of the first four weeks, then participate in three-15 minutes sessions.

Each session will feature three stations, focusing on football elements such as strength and conditioning, special teams and agility training. McAlester High School coaches will run the stations, while high school players will act as team leaders.

Campers will be split into six teams for the final two weeks of the camp, which will focus on game-preparation skills. A Buffalo Ball tournament will then take place on May 3, in which each of the six teams will be guaranteed two games.

“Buffalo Way” awards will be given out by Buffs head coach Bryan Pratt at the end of each day of camp for the team works the hardest.

Spring Training Camp will cost $100, and each camper will receive a T-shirt and final evaluation from the coaches.
