Eastern Oklahoma State College sophomore Kelly Bogard, right, of McAlester was named the Outstanding Behavioral and Social Science Division Graduate during the college’s commencement ceremony on Friday in Wilburton. Division Dean Marilynn Duncan, left, presented the award. One graduate from each of the six college divisions is selected each year for the honor. Bogard graduated in the top 10 percent of her class with an associate of arts degree in both general studies and psychology/sociology and a 3.91 overall grade point average. She is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and has been active with several other campus events during her time at Eastern. She was a member of the McAlester campus’ Relay for Life team, helped decorate for and organize the Homecoming parade, volunteered for the Trunk or Treat event and represented Eastern at events such as the Italian Festival in McAlester, the Robbers Cave State Park Fall Festival and the McAlester Art Exhibit and Old Town Festival. Bogard has two children that are also graduating this spring. Her son, Emmitt, is a fellow Eastern graduate this year with a 3.5 GPA. Her other son, Warren, will graduate at the top of his class from Crowder High School.
