Wilburton students of the month announced

A trio of seniors were recognized as Students of the Month for March by members of the Wilburton Kiwanis Club. The students were special guests during the club’s March 28 meeting held on the campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College.
Alyssa Fugitt is the daughter of Robert and Rosalie Fugitt of Wilburton. She attends Wilburton High School where she is a member of the Lady Digger basketball, softball and track teams, FCS, FBLA, speech and drama, yearbook, and the newspaper. She currently serves as editor of the 2007 yearbook and reporter of the speech and drama club. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society and National Forensic League. She has been named to the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and was named as the valedictorian of this year’s senior class.
Patsy Huffine is the daughter of Cindy Rector of Wilburton and Jeff Mitchell of El Reno. She attends Wilburton High School where she has participated in FCCLA, yearbook, Spanish club and vocal music. She currently serves as FCCLA vice-president and is a member of the National Honor Society. She was named to Who’s Who Among American High School Students, Outstanding Student in economics, and has received superior and excellent ratings in yearbook photo competition.
Mike Roets is the son of Bill and Lynne Montana. He attends Wilburton High School where he is a member of the Digger football and powerlifting teams, the Digger band and FCCLA. He has served as parliamentarian of FCCLA. He is a four time state qualifier in powerlifting finishing fourth this year and will participate in the 2007 National Powerlifting meet. He was named powerlifting and track MVP three consecutive years and was named 2006 All-District Honorable Mention defensive back in football.
Roets has served as recreation director for Vacation Bible School. He enjoys sports, lifting weights and music. He plans to attend Eastern Oklahoma State College upon graduation.
