Bethel was convicted of a felonly in Arkansas in 2011 and had five total counts charged against him during that time. The counts included breaking or entering, two counts of breaking and entering, theft of property and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Bethel faces a penalty of imprisonment for two years to life if convicted, while Brownlee faces up to 15 years and a fine.
