Commissioners vote to vacate roads

McALESTER — Pittsburg County commissioners voted to vacate county roads for a McAlester preacher.

The commissioners met for a regular commissioners meeting on Monday at the Pittsburg County Courthouse.

Life Church Pastor Terren Anderson was represented by McAlester Attorney Elaine Green at the meeting.

Last week Green went before the commissioners asking  the commissioners to sign a resolution to vacate unused county roads on 30 acres of land in the East Crest Addition so Anderson can purchase the land to build a home.

This week commissioners voted unanimously to sign the resolution.

Also during the meeting, the commissioners approved a payment for an invoice of $5,625 to Nabholz Construction Services for construction of a partition wall for the Pittsburg County Health Departmetn.

Also attending Monday’s meeting was District 2 Commissioner Kevin Smith, District 3 Commissioner Chairman Ronnie Young and District 1 Commissioner Gene Rogers.

Pittsburg County commissioners meet Mondays at 9 a.m. in the commissioner’s conference room at the Pittsburg County Courthouse.

The meetings are open to the public.
