McALESTER — A McAlester man was recently accused of raping a 17-year-old girl.

Kash Eugene Walters, 41, was charged May 10 in Pittsburg County District Court with multiple felony counts in multiple cases. In one case, Walters is charged with sodomy by force or fear, first degree rape, incest, sodomy and child sexual abuse. In a second case, he was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. And in a third case, he was charged with misdemeanor discharging a firearm.

According to court records, the alleged victim in the rape case told police that Walters has been forcing her to have inappropriate sexual relations with him since she was 14 years old.

In the assault case, the alleged victim told police Walters tried to run her off the road in his vehicle. And in the misdemeanor case, the alleged victim told police Walters was threatening her and fired a gun in the air to scare her.

Walters was arrested and posted a $50,000 bond and was released from custody at the Pittsburg County jail.

Walters told the News-Capital Tuesday afternoon that he would like to comment, and defend himself, but his attorney, Jeremy Beaver, has advised him not to do so. Beaver said Walters has pled not guilty in the cases. He also said that, though he may comment at a later time, he has no comment right now.

Walters is due back in court May 17 at 9 a.m. to face charges.
