Local police arrested two McAlester men in connection with recent car burglaries.
Krebs Police arrested a 33-year-old man Monday after running his license and finding warrants for his arrest during a routine traffic stop, according to McAlester Police Department Det. Sgt. Chris Morris.
After posting bond, it was discovered the man was carrying property reported to be stolen and he was arrested again by McAlester Police for allegedly receiving stolen property, Morris said.
Morris said the 33-year-old man is possibly connected to multiple burglaries including a Christmas day burglary that occurred in the Parking lot of Walgreen’s where a purse, back pack and other items were stolen. On Tuesday night, Morris said, MPD arrested a 26-year-old in connection with other car burglaries and thefts that happened within the hospital and in the parking lot of McAlester Regional Hospital.
No one had been charged at the time this story was written for publication.
The arrests are not suspected to be related or connected with each other, according to Morris.
