McALESTER — A free advanced motorcycle safety class is set for Saturday at Life Church.

The safety course will be taught by members of the Motorcycle Safety Unit of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

“It’s not too late to sign up and we will make room for those who would rather just show up,” said trooper David Cravens.

The unit will be offered at Life Church, 2500 S. George Nigh Expressway, Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to Cravens.

The free eight-hour course is for experienced riders who want to learn about advanced braking and evasive maneuvers,

he said.

“I think people are surprised at what they don’t know,” Cravens said.

“Their riding abilities expand with their confidence.”
