Teacher sentenced for rape of male student

McALESTER — A former Quinton substitute teacher has received a 10-year suspended sentence in the rape of a male student.

Andrea Antrich pleaded no contest in Pittsburg County District Court on Aug. 12 to a felony charge of second-degree rape for having a “sex relationship” with a 17-year-old male student, court records state.

Antrich, 24, of Quinton was originally charged in December with five counts of second-degree rape, she faced up to 15 years for each count.

After pleading no contest, Antrich was sentenced to a 10-year suspended sentence and the rest of the charges were dismissed, court records state.

The charges allege Antrich was having an ongoing sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male Quinton student between Oct. 1 and Nov. 30 of 2012.

According to a court affidavit filed in the case, Quinton Police Chief Tim Reavis was called to Quinton High School on Nov. 29, 2012, regarding allegations that a teacher was having a sexual relationship with a student. While interviewing the student, Reavis determined  Antrich and the student allegedly had a relationship at her home after school hours.

Police determined that the crime of rape was allegedly  committed “based upon the victims statement and the defendants statement and the fact that she was a substitute teacher and he is a student.”

A phone number for Antrich could not be found.
