Thick black smoke which could be seen for blocks, billowed out the front and back windows of the two story residence as firefighters battled the Friday afternoon blaze at 225 W. Washington Ave.
Seventeen firefighters and eight emergency response vehicles including three engines, a ladder truck and two ambulances responded to the fire which was reported at 3:12 p.m.
The Krebs Volunteer Fire Department was also called to the scene.
The report states that when the firemen arrived at the scene the fire was at the back of the house and then eventually spread to the attic, causing the roof to cave in.
The fire was contained at 4:09 p.m. according to the report.
There was no reported cause of the fire, no injuries and no estimates on the damage to the home which was a total loss.
