McALESTER — Felony dispositions

The following felony cases were decided Feb. 21 to 27 in Pittsburg County District Court. Listings do not include all court costs and fees.

James Roland Foster, also known as Niomi Jackson, pleaded guilty Feb. 27 to possession of a controlled dangerous substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a license suspended, canceled or revoked. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for five years on the felony and for one year on the misdemeanors, to be served concurrently, and he was fined $650, with another $4,500 suspended.

Jeffrey Owen Freeman, 44, of Krebs, pleaded guilty Feb. 27 to manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school or park, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm after a felony conviction and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to 12 years, with another nine suspended, for drug manufacture and drug possession near a park or school, 10 years for the firearm charges, and one year for paraphernalia possession. The sentences were ordered served concurrently with each other and with sentencing in two other cases. He was also fined $50,000 on the manufacturing charge, with all but $1,000 suspended, $500 for drug possession, $100 for firearm possession after a conviction and $50 for paraphernalia possession. Charges of conspiracy to manufacture a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school or park were dismissed. He was also given credit for time served.

Devin Ray McCoy, 21, of McAlester, pleaded guilty Feb. 27 to possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for five years, to be served concurrently with sentencing in a misdemeanor case, and he was fined $500, with another $4,500 suspended. A misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled dangerous substance was dismissed.

A 1999 charge of embezzlement of rented property was dismissed Feb. 27 for Kevin Scott Riser, of Antlers.
