Man sought in rape case

McALESTER — A police affidavit alleges that after a Blocker man met a 14-year-old at church, he made friends with her, came over to her McAlester residence after being asked not to, and allegedly had relations with her.

Rafael Ibarra, 26, has been charged with rape in the first degree for allegedly having intercourse with a minor. There is a felony warrant out for his arrest.

Police responded to a rape report at the hospital emergency room on March 17. There police met the alleged victim and the alleged victim’s

mother who described the alleged occurrence. The alleged victim told police that she had asked Ibarra not to come over, but he did anyway.

According to allegations in the affidavit written by McAlester Police Officer Jason Crittenden, Ibarra allegedly started kissing the victim. The alleged victim told police that she was scared because she had never had sex before, and her mother was sleeping and could wake up.

The alleged victim’s mother, after learning of what occurred, took her daughter to the hospital emergency room for an evaluation and to contact law enforcement.

Ibarra, if convicted, could face a sentencing range of no less than five years in prison, life in prison or life without parole.
