Eufaula man dies in accident on State Highway 9

McALESTER — A Eufaula man has died after having an apparent heart attack while driving down State Highway 9, officials say.

John Robbins, 69, of Eufaula was pronounced dead at the scene, his passenger Elizabeth Robbins, 52, of Eufaula was not injured, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The accident was reported just after 3 p.m. on Friday on the eastbound State Highway 9, four miles north of Hanna in McIntosh County.

The OHP reports that John Robbins suffered an apparent  heart attack and lost control of the vehicle which ran off the right side of the roadway through a fence, according to the report.

Both passengers were wearing a seatbelt.
