Pittsburg County District Court Dispositions

The following felony cases were decided in Pittsburg County District Court May 1-19. Dispositions include dismissed cases, suspended and deferred sentences, and sentences from trials and plea bargains.
• Gary Shawn Mayo, 25, of McAlester, pleaded guilty May 19 to domestic abuse assault and battery and a two-year sentence was suspended. He was also ordered to complete 52 weeks of domestic abuse counseling. The charge was filed with the prior conviction enhancement for a 2004 misdemeanor conviction for domestic abuse assault and battery that resulted in a one-year suspended sentence.
• Willis Neal Nobles, 34, of rural McAlester, pleaded guilty May 14 to possession of controlled substance, methamphetamine and marijuana. He was sentenced to complete Drug Court, after which charges will be dismissed, and payment of a $4,500 Drug Court fee and costs of incarceration. The charge was filed with the prior conviction enhancement for a 2005 drug possession and paraphernalia case that resulted in a five-year deferral.
• Nobles also pleaded guilty May 14 on an application to accelerate deferred sentencing for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to complete Drug Court, after which the application will be dismissed, and payment of a $4,500 Drug Court fee and costs of incarceration.
• A charge of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed May 1 for Leslie Gene Osborne, 49, of McAlester, on completion of Drug Court and payment of Drug Court costs, treatment fees and other assessments. Osborne was charged with the prior conviction enhancement for a 1997 conviction for misdemeanor marijuana possession that resulted in a six-month deferral, and a 1998 conviciton for possession of a controlled substance, resulting in a four-year deferral. Both prior convictions were in Grayson County, Texas.
• A charge of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled drug and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed May 1 for Torey Underwood, 20, of McAlester, on completion of Drug Court and payment of Drug Court costs, treatment fees and other assessments.
The following misdemeanor cases were decided in Pittsburg County District Court May 1-19. Dispositions include dismissed cases, suspended and deferred sentences, and sentences from trials and plea bargains.
• Steven Ernest Downing, 30, of McAlester, pleaded guilty May 19 to driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, attempting to elude a police officer and driving without a driver’s license. He was sentenced to 95 days in jail, with the remainder of a one-year sentence suspended, and he was fined $650. A charge of failure to carry insurance or a security verification form was dismissed. He was also ordered to complete DUI School and a Victim’s Impact Panel.
• In a separate case, a charge of domestic abuse assault and battery was dismissed May 19 for Downing, 30.
• Joshua Taylor Clanahan, 27, of McAlester, pleaded guilty May 19 to driving while his license is suspended and speeding in a posted zone, 58 mph in a 25 mph zone at Tannehill School. A one-year sentence was suspended, to be served concurrent with sentencing in two other misdemeanor cases, and he was fined $10,
• In a separate case, Clanahan pleaded guilty May 19 to obtaining cash or merchandise by bogus check or false pretenses. A one-year sentence was suspended, to be served concurrent with sentencing in two other misdemeanor cases, and he was ordered to pay $429.18 in restitution.
• Also on May 19, Clanahan pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, Lortab, and judgment and sentencing were deferred for one year, with sentencing to be served concurrent with sentencing in two other misdemeanor cases. He was also fined $100.
• Justin Glenn Lawrence, 23, of McAlester, pleaded guilty May 19 to aggravated driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage. Two one-year sentences were suspended, to be served consecutively, and he was fined $500. Restitution in the case was reserved and he was ordered to serve 60 hours of community service.
• Kevin G. Pike, 45, of Hartshorne, pleaded guilty May 19 to allowing domestic animals to run at large and judgment and sentencing were deferred for 30 days. He was also fined $10.
• Jesus Velazquez Mendez, 27, of Tulsa, pleaded guilty May 19 to riving without a driver’s license and judgment and sentencing were deferred for 30 days. He was also fined $50.
• Sam Mark, 38, of McAlester, pleaded guilty May 19 to obstructing an officer and public intoxication. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for one year and he was fined $110.
• Melanie Jeanine Parsons, 36, of Davis, pleaded guilty May 18 to public intoxication and she was fined $10.
• Jessie L. Williams, 53, of McAlester, pleaded guilty May 18 to public intoxication and was fined $10.
• Elmer Don Whittaker, 48, of McAlester, pleaded guilty May 18 to public intoxication and he was fined $10.
• Paula Alice Greer, 47, of McAlester, was found guilty May 18 in a non-jury trial of stalking. She received a deferred sentence for one year on the condition that she not have any contact with the alleged victim in the case. She was also fined $100.
• Jessie W. Bottoms, 23, of Quinton, pleaded guilty May 15 to driving without a valid driver’s license and failure to wear seat belt. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for 90 days and he was ordered to pay the scheduled fines.
• Steven Alan Krout, 18, of Savanna, pleaded guilty May 14 to driving while his license is suspended and he was fined $250.
• Martin Wade Ham, 41, of Modesto, Calif., pleaded guilty May 14 to public intoxication and he was fined $10.
• Anthony D. Thomas, 23, of McAlester, pleaded guilty May 14 to driving with his license revoked and in a defective vehicle. He was fined $300.
• Tod Jay Wilson, 47, of Eufaula, pleaded no contest May 14 to driving with a suspended license. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for 90 days and he was fined $250.
