McALESTER — The following felony and misdemeanor cases were decided in Pittsburg County District Court Nov. 4 - 15.

Dispositions include dismissed cases, suspended and deferred sentences and sentences from trials and plea bargains.

Listings do not include all court costs.



Felony cases

• Stephen J. Nelson, 23, McAlester, pleaded guilty Nov. 4 to charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was fined $1,100 and received a deferred sentence of seven years.

• Michael McKendrick, 19, McAlester, pleaded guilty Nov. 4 to a charge of knowingly concealing stolen property. He was fined $600 and received a deferred sentence of two years.

• Nikki A. Garcia, 26, McAlester, pleaded guilty Nov. 4 to a charge of embezzlement. She was fined $550, ordered to pay $520 in restitution and received a deferred sentence of one year.

• Javan R. Springs, 24, Bethany, pleaded guilty Nov. 14 to charges of possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was fined and sentenced to 10 years, with nine years suspended.

• Jeffery R. Wheeler Jr., 26, Canadian, pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to a charge of attempted grand larceny. He was fined and received a 2.5 year suspended sentence.

• Trey C. Cullifer, 19, McAlester, pleaded guilty Nov. 8 to a charge of eluding a police officer. He was fined $1,000 and sentenced to five years, with three years suspended.

• Brenda K. Thomas, 41, Haileyville, pleaded guilty Nov. 4 to charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (aggravated), driving with a license canceled, suspended or revoked, failure to maintain security and failure to pay taxes die state. She was fined $1,640, ordered to complete DUI school, ordered to complete 80 hours of community service, ordered to use an interlock device for 18 months and received a 10-year suspended sentence.

• Ernest V. Driver, 38, Stuart, pleaded no contest Nov. 4 to a charge of knowingly concealing stolen property. He was fined $550 and sentenced to five years, with three years suspended.

• Jeremiah Lightle, 25, Hartshorne, pleaded guilty Nov. 7 to a charge of domestic abuse (assault and battery). He was fined, ordered to complete 52 weeks of domestic abuse counseling and was sentenced to one year. A charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon was dismissed.

• Justin S. Lemons, 25, Hartshorne, pleaded guilty Nov. 4 to charges of knowingly concealing stolen property, driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and operation prohibited vehicle on a street or highway. He was fined $100 and sentenced to five years.

• Cory Puet, 42, McAlester, pleaded guilty Nov. 4 to a charge of second degree burglary. He was fined $1,250 and received a five-year suspended sentence.



Misdemeanor cases

• A charge of possession of obtaining cash or merchandise by bogus check or false pretenses was dismissed Nov. 7 for Jody S. Ellis, 43, of Hartshorne.

• David L. Lozano, 49, Hartshorne, pleaded guilty Nov. 15 to two counts of driving with a suspended license and transporting an opened container of beer. He was fined $990 and received a six-month suspended sentence.

• Gena W. Bookout, 41, McAlester, pleaded guilty Nov. 10 to charges of driving with a suspended license and failure to use a child restraint. She was fined $210.

• Christina R. Barnes, 24, Quinton, pleaded guilty Nov. 8 to a charge of driving with a suspended license. She was fined $280.

• Jeffery K. Ellis, 19, Hartshorne, pleaded no contest Nov. 7 to a charge of public intoxication. He was fined $130.

• Tracy L. Lamar, 44, Hartshorne, pleaded no contest Nov. 7 to a charge of drunk and disorderly conduct. Lamar was fined $330.

• Lance C. Berry, 19, McAlester, pleaded guilty Nov. 10 to charges of driving with a revoked license and transporting an open bottle or container of liquor. He was fined $460.

• Dorothy A. Sumpter, 41, Haileyville, pleaded guilty Nov. 8 to a charge of obtaining cash or merchandise by bogus check or false pretenses. She was fined, ordered to pay $4,635.99 in restitution and received a deferred sentence of three years.

• Tanya L. Hampton, 23, Eufaula, pleaded guilty Nov. 8 to a charge of obtaining cash or merchandise by bogus check or false pretenses. She was fined $130, ordered to pay $105.14 in restitution and received a deferred sentence of one year.

• Heather L. McCracken, 25, Eufaula, pleaded guilty Nov. 8 to a charge of obtaining cash or merchandise by bogus check or false pretenses. She was fined, ordered to pay $585 in restitution and received a deferred sentence of one year.

• Robert A. Thompson II, 22, Wister, pleaded no contest Nov. 7 to a charge of driving with a suspended license. He was fined $130 and received a deferred sentence of 30 days.

• Scott Goines, 33, of Kiowa, pleaded guilty Nov. 8 to a charge of obtaining cash or merchandise by bogus check or false pretenses. He was fined, ordered to pay $483.23 in restitution and received a deferred sentence of three years.

• April D. Goines, 31, of Kiowa, pleaded guilty Nov. 8 to three counts of obtaining cash or merchandise by bogus check or false pretenses. He was fined, ordered to pay $2,519.46 in restitution and received a deferred sentence of three years.

• Brandy J. Herndon, 27, of Eufaula, pleaded guilty Nov. 15 to a charge of obstructing an officer. She was fined $130 and received a deferred sentence of 90 days.

• Lynn A. Sexton, 45, of McAlester, pleaded guilty Nov. 15 to a charge of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs. She was fined $530 and received a deferred sentence of one year.

• Elizabeth A. Baker, 24, McAlester, pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to a charge of driving with a license canceled, suspended or revoked. She was fined $100 and received a deferred sentence of one year.

• Kim Epperson, 48, Crowder, pleaded no contest Nov. 8 to a charge of obtaining cash or merchandise by bogus check or false pretenses. She was fined, ordered to pay $4,233.76 in restitution and received a deferred sentence of three years.

• Robin M. Holloway, 19, McAlester, pleaded no contest Nov. 8 to charges of public intoxication and resisting an officer. Holloway was fined $260 and received a deferred sentence of one year.

• Jordyn Clark, 19, McAlester, pleaded guilty Nov. 7 to charges of obstructing an officer and public intoxication. He was fined $260 and received a deferred sentence of one year.

• Brette F. Clark, 21, McAlester, pleaded guilty Nov. 7 to charges of obstructing an officer and public intoxication. He was fined $260 and received a deferred sentence of one year.

• Joshua Cowden, 33, McAlester, pleaded guilty Nov. 14 to a charge of public intoxication. He was fined $130.

• Ryan J. McClaughrey, 25, McAlester, pleaded guilty Nov. 14 to a charge of public intoxication. He was fined $130.



The following new felony cases were filed in Pittsburg County District Court, from Nov. 7 - 14.

• On Nov. 7, Anthony D. King, 44, of McAlester, was charged with domestic abuse (assault and battery) by strangulation.

• On Nov. 7, Jordan Hamilton, 18, of McAlester, was charged with grand larceny and obtaining cash or merchandise by bogus check or false pretenses.

• On Nov. 7, Adrian L. Roller, 33, of McAlester, was charged with robbery by force or fear and domestic abuse (assault and battery) by strangulation.

• On Nov. 9, Early W. Woodmore III, 24, of Kinta, was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled dangerous substance.

• On Nov. 10, Jamey S. Phillips, 38, of Edmond, was charged with omitting to provide for a minor child.

• On Nov. 14, Timothy Finley, 20, of McAlester, was charged with false impersonation and public intoxication.

• On Nov. 14, James H. Cope Jr., 35, of Haileyville, was charged with first degree burglary, malicious injury to property and protective order violation.
