Lupardus captures the flames

Photos from the recent Wildcat wild fire near Stuart

McALESTER — Within these photos by Lois Lupardus, the devistation of the fire wildfire named Wildcat by the Forestry Service — and the aftermath — that took place in the far western part of Pittsburg County, near Stuart, is showed after it burned more than 700 acres.

Lupardus also captures the American Red Cross Southeast Oklahoma Community Chapter in action as they arrive to the scene of the WIldcat fire to pass out food, water and Gatorade to firefighters.

Firefighters from Ashland, Blanco, Blue, Haywood-Arpelar, Kiowa, Krebs, Shady Grove, Stuart and Tannehill all battled the Wildcat blaze near Stuart that erupted Monday and re-ignited Tuesday.
