McALESTER — Six local fighters competed in the American Grappling Federation Oklahoma State BJJ Championship with over 400 competitors. Instructor and Owner David Bailey of Thunder Foot Bailey's team placed 22 out of 96 Teams. Fernando Torres, 1st place Gold 160 lightweight, James Dinwiddie 3rd place Bronze 160 lightweight, Heather Davis 2nd place Silver, Davon Spencer 3rd place Bronze 260 ultra-heavyweight division, Brandon Clement 2nd place Silver 185 middleweight, Kaylen Duff 2nd place Silver. David Bailey was very pleased with the 6 fighters. “They all trained hard for the event and Fernando Torres also did a great job training everyone for their fight” Bailey said. “They all worked hard and prepared in a very short time for the competition, Bailey stated, we had to change a few techniques around since this was strictly a Jujitsu Competition.” Thunder Foot Bailey's Gym has also had fighters compete this year in the Sooner State Games and qualify for Nationals in Nebraska. Kaylen Duff, Heather Davis and Cody Davis have recently competed in Tulsa bringing home 3 silvers and 1 bronze. Thunder Foot Bailey is now working hard on getting his fighters ready for the NAGA Tournament June 21, in Oklahoma City.
