Hard Times quilt show ready to go

The deadline has passed and the quota has been met.
“We’ve got 60 beautiful quilts,” for Hartshorne’s Hard times Festival, said Shirley Monks, coordinator. “No more will be taken.”
The show is set Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the old Grand Leader building on Pennsylvania Avenue in Hartshorne.
The women who have entered this year’s show include Alice Ratliff, Erlene Anson, Betty Trueblood, Julia Waitrovich, Betty Earp, Mary Clunn, Janice Cranor, Sue Kinsey, Catherine McCaslin, Betty Linney, Jane Davis, Linda Monks, Freada Pogue, Laverne Holloway, Arielle Monks, Eileen Smith, Cindy Rector, Geri Lopez, Shirley Burk, Dorothy Collins, Jo Wallace, Nelda Dugger, Daisy Richards, Inger Raunikar, Rosie Ledlow, Carolyn Overton, Norma Bookout, Mary Jane Nichter and Reba Lout.
Also, Billie Holt, Jan Day, Beth Gera, Norma Kinsey, Nancy Drumgold, Stacy Hoffman, Hartshorne Nutrition Center, Zoa Sudduth, Christine Davidson, Janice Williams, Carolyn Suter, Twila Smart, Janice Sirmans, Midnight Riters, Evelyn Green, Pat Lawson, Gail Pool and Jean Hardy.
The sponsors for this year’s show are First National Bank of Hartshorne, Latimer State Bank and Roy’s Grocery, both of Wilburton and National Oilwell Varco, of McAlester.
The judge for the quilt show will be Marva Frances from Quinton.
“Come to the show and enjoy these beautiful works of art. We even have one quilt called ‘10 Below,’” Monks said. “Nothing like a nice heavy quilt when its below zero.”
