Feeling like fall already

The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer.

The feeling of fall is already here.

The Quinton Savage football homecoming will be on Sept. 22 at 6:30 p.m.

Joshua Steven Murray will celebrate his 15th birthday on Sept. 10. He is my grandson.

Charlene Daniel held A Bible study on Aug. 28 at Quinton Manor. Those present were Dorothy Degroot, Pauline Giles, Grace Edwards, Hattie Seabolt, Eva Bennight and myself.

There was a birthday party held at Quinton Manor for the following residents on Aug. 29: Iva Hayes, Mozel Meek, Edith Franklin and Lora Bunyard.

Ellen Ogden visited her sister, Tressa Noble, at Quinton Manor on Aug. 29.

Bill and Edna Seabolt, of Tulsa, visited his mother, Hattie Seabolt, at Quinton Manor on Aug. 29.

Donna Dunlap and Marie Monks attended the Prayer House on Aug. 29.

Felicia Basden, of Spiro, visited her mother, Patricia Capehart, at Stigler on Aug. 29.

My cousin Aline Butler, of Hinton, told me that she had an appointment with her eye doctor on Aug. 28.

It was reported that Jasper Adcock had surgery at Muskogee Regional Medical Center on Aug. 29.

Brandy Calhoun said that her daughter, Samantha Calhoun, broke both her arms.

Jan Carter reported that her sister-in-law, Robin Terrall, had a car accident near Blocker on Aug. 26. Robin broke her vertebrae and was admitted to a local hospital.

We expend our deepest sympathy to the family of Ella Wilson.

Cheyenne and Felicia Basden, of Spiro, visited her parents, Terry and Patricia Capehart, of Stigler, on Aug. 31.

My recent visitors were Charlene Daniel, Ginger Blankenship, the Rev. John Basden, Marie Monks, the Rev. John Clawser, Lou Ann and Peyton Knell, Jewel Roberts, Jean Wise, Margie Brimer, Christie Leach, Donna Dunlap, Irene Vance and Josh and Holly Murray.

The Rev. John Basden visited his mother, Ida Basden, on Aug. 31.

Myrtle Whitehead, of Kinta, visited some of her friends at Quinton Manor last week.

Janice Hopson, of Kinta, and her daughter, Michelle Ragan, and children, from McAlester, visited in Sallisaw with Janice’s mother, Maggie Lockhart, on Sept. 2.

The Quinton Senior Citizens Center had 52 present for dinner on Aug. 30. Flora McKee gave the blessing over the meal. The menu included hamburger steaks, potatoes with gravy, salad, corn, carrots, biscuits, bread pudding and drinks.

I held a prayer meeting at Quinton Manor on Aug. 30. Those present were Iva Hayes, Tressa Noble, Dorothy Degroot, Hattie Seabolt, Geri Aby, Pauline Giles, Eva Bennight, Wilma Satterfield and Grace Edwards.

The Heavenly Echoes gospel singers held services at Quinton Manor on Sept. 1. The group includes Donna Dunlap, Marie Monks and Irene Vance.

Cheyenne and Felicia Basden, of Spiro, were visitors in Tuskahoma on Labor Day weekend.

Wilma Anderson visited her sister, Dolores Wiles, at Quinton Manor last week.

Stoney Basden visited his grandmother, Colene Basden, last week.

The Sold Out To Jesus gospel singers held services at Quinton Manor on Sept. 2. The singers include Sharon Morris and Cameo Brennan.

The Quinton High School players and cheerleaders visited the residents of Quinton Manor on Sept. 1.

Geneva Robinson is home from St. Edward’s Hospital. She is improving since her surgery.

Pat Followill, of Lequire, reported that her granddaughter, Annie Hogan, is home from the hospital. She is doing better since her car accident.

Jean Wise, of Enterprise, was a visitor in Muskogee on Aug. 28.

Charlene Daniel and I will celebrate 16 years of teaching Bible study at Quinton Manor on Monday.

The Jesus Name Church will hold services at Quinton Manor today at 3 p.m. The pastor is the Rev. Donnie Taylor and assistant pastor is the Rev. Jay Miller.
