Marijuana package: Two Enid women are arrested, charged in district court

ENID, Okla. — Two Enid women arrested last week with what authorities said was a package containing nearly 4 pounds of marijuana have been charged this week in district court.

Karen Ann Davis, 22, and Sentoya DeAnn Rogers, 31, were charged Tuesday with drug-related felonies following their arrests Friday by Enid Police Department Narcotics detectives.

Davis is charged with possession of a controlled substance in the presence of a child under 12, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Rogers was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute.

Davis faces up to two years in prison and a fine of up to $2,000 on her felony charge.

Rogers is facing two years to life in prison and a fine of up to $20,000.

Enid Police Narcotics Detectives received information Friday a suspicious package possibly containing contraband was being delivered to 1407 E. Cherry.

During their investigation, detectives saw the package being delivered to the residence. Shortly after the package was delivered, a maroon Honda driven by Davis arrived at the residence, according to an affidavit filed in the case. A female passenger, later identified as Rogers, got out of the vehicle and retrieved the package from the front porch, according to the affidavit.

The women left the residence and detectives followed them to a residence at 1906 E. Cedar. Detectives made contact with the pair and found that there was a 5-month-old child in the back seat of the car.

Detectives spoke with Rogers about the package she retrieved from the residence on East Cherry.

She said she was picking up a package from a friend, but when asked who her friend was, she refused to say, according to the affidavit.

Detectives then spoke with Davis. She said Rogers told her to go to the house on Cherry so she could pick up a package for her “baby’s daddy.”

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the package Sentoya was seen picking up from the residence on East Cherry. Upon obtaining the search warrant, detectives opened the package and found that it contained about 4 pounds of high-grade marijuana, worth about $35,000, according to the affidavit.

A further search the vehicle revealed a small metal tin containing marijuana, along with a glass pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana, according to the affidavit.

Online court records show the women posted $2,500 bond and are scheduled for arraignment on the charges this morning.
