Two busted for larceny

Ada — Two people were arrested at a local store for an alleged grand larceny Sunday.

Walmart employees called central dispatch to report large theft and said the suspects left going north on Country Club in a green pickup. Ada police searched for and located the pickup. They detained the driver 22-year-old Chelsea Flemming of Konawa, and passenger, 24-year-old Eric Jones of Ada.

Ada patrolman John Parker met with a Walmart employee who witnessed the alleged crime. The employee said while she was working a register, she saw a man — later identified as Jones — push a cart full of car stereo equipment into the bakery section of the store, where he watched her. She was called away from the register by a manager and that’s when she said Jones pushed the cart out the exit doors. The employee yelled for the man to stop but he continued to a pickup where he loaded the stereo equipment in the back.

“(She) sated a Walmart cart pusher attempted to stop the male subject but he got into the passenger side of the pickup and left,” Parker wrote in a report. Ada Police Officers Brain Engel and Adam Vanlandingham escorted the pickup with Fleming and Jones back to Walmart. The employee identified Jones as the man who allegedly took the merchandise estimated at $980.04. Jones and Fleming were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and grand larceny.
