Police: Mom reports burglary after drinking, taking pills

ENID, Okla. — An Enid woman is facing charges after reporting a burglary at her home to police while high on prescription pills and drunk.

Shelbi Juanice Billeaudeau, 21, was charged this week with a felony count of child neglect and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Billeaudeau, who is scheduled for arraignment next week, faces up to life imprisonment and/or a fine of $500 to $5,000 on the neglect charge. She also faces up to a year in jail, a fine of up to $1,000 or both on the misdemeanor.

According to an affidavit filed in the case, Billeaudeau reported someone inside her home, 1605 W. Elm, to police at 10:06 p.m. Sunday. She was outside and told dispatchers she could see someone getting into her refrigerator inside her house. She also said her 8-week-old son was inside the home.

Officers arrived and cleared the house twice but did not find a burglar.

Officer Cody Smith notes in the affidavit Billeaudeau was having trouble holding her son and was also having trouble staying alert. Smith spoke with Billeaudeau and asked if she had taken any medication this evening. Billeaudeau said she’d taken two Xanax and had drank six to seven beers.

Officer Lee Frisendahl was questioning Billeaudeau about the marks on her arm. Smith noted in his affidavit she had two track marks on her arms that were still bleeding.

While speaking with her, Smith notes Billeaudeau was bobbing up and down as if she was going to pass out, according to the affidavit. Billeaudeau nearly passed out three times while feeding her baby with a bottle. Officer Michele James took the baby from Billeaudeau for his safety.

Smith walked through the residence and found a spoon with a residue on it on top of a shirt in the kitchen, according to the affidavit. Officers asked Billeaudeau if she had been shooting up drugs and she said she’d been shooting up “Roxies,” an instant-release form of oxicodone.

Frisendahl told the other officers Billeaudeau had thrown several syringes under the sink before officers arrived.

Smith asked Billeaudeau to sign a search waiver form for the items and noted she could not write her name or understand what Smith was talking about.

Smith noted he would ask Billeaudeau questions, and she would give responses unrelated to the question. He also noted Billeaudeau continued to talk about how good the coffee she was drinking was but she was not holding a cup or anything.

“When we told Shelbi DHS was coming to the house to talk to her, she did not seem concerned or emotional at all,” Smith wrote in the affidavit.

Officers found four used syringes in the home, as well as a bag of synthetic marijuana and a green one-hitter pipe. A bottle of pills was found in Billeaudeau’s purse containing 19 Alrazolan and 42 Hydrochlorothlazide.

Smith contacted DHS and when he walked back into the house, he found Billeaudeau slumped over the armrest of the couch passed out, according to the affidavit.

Billeaudeau is free on $10,000 bond and will make her initial appearance on the charges Oct. 17.
