Planetarium slates annual Christmas ‘Star’ event

ENID, Okla. — Northern Oklahoma College Mackie Planetarium will present its annual Christmas program, “The Star of Bethlehem,”starting Dec. 5.

The title of this year’s show is “The Heavens Declare the Glory of God: Psalm 19:1.”

“We will recreate the sky over Babylon as it appeared 2,000 years ago and show how planets and constellations in the sky at that time may have guided the Wise Men to Bethlehem for the first Christmas morning. This year, our show will include the significance of the Trojan War in shaping the events leading to the first Christmas,” said Fritz Osell, NOC astronomy instructor.

There will be two shows a night. Shows will be at 6:30 and 8 p.m. Dec. 5, 12 and 19.

There is no admission charge, but donations for the Horn of Plenty will be accepted.

Additional shows can be scheduled for groups by calling Bob Killam at (580) 548-2399.
