Betty L. Deaton, 73, of Savanna, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at McAlester Regional Health Center.
Funeral services were at 2 today at Brumley-Mills Chapel with the Rev. Kyle Cummings officiating. Burial was at Savanna Cemetery under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born June 25, 1934, in Woodworth, La., she was the daughter of Bert and Louella (Rambo) Maxey. She grew up in Louisiana and graduated from LeCompt High School.
She then moved with her family to Port Arthur, Texas, where she met Denzel Deaton. They were married there on Feb. 28, 1959.
They spent most of their life together traveling and living in many different places. They settled in Savanna in 1997.
She was an avid sports fan and loved watching any sports activities. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Denzel Deaton, of the home.
Pallbearers were Michael Vogt, Jeff Deaton, Jake Watts, Lloyd Watts, and Jonathan Wolf.
Honorary pallbearers were Ashley Reich, Siara Reich, and Malyn Vogt.
